The NWCSC encourages sportsmen to become involved in the matters that affect them. Part of this guiding principle includes hands-on Conservation Projects, and initiatives to improve Public Access and enjoyment of the outdoors.
Over the years, we have worked on projects such as marking and posting property lines of state lands, habitat improvements and public lands maintenance. We have constructed protective netting structures at the Burlington Trout Hatchery and a Wildlife Viewing Building at the Goshen Wildlife Management Area.
There are many habitat and conservation projects that we would like to be involved with. We do this work simply because it needs to be done, without expectation of reward or acknowledgement Hands on volunteerism creates the distinction of a sportsmen’s conservation organization such as ours, and enhances our credibility with decision makers on issues that affect our sporting heritage.
Here are some of the projects we have funded in the past along with a list of our future projects. NWCSC needs volunteers to help with the work of planning, supervising and accomplishing work in the field.
If you would be willing to volunteer a little of your time to such projects, please send an e-mail to our project and voluteer coordinator with your name and contact information. Our coordinator can be reached at the email address on our contact page. If you are experienced in any field of outdoor work, or have access to maintenance or field equipment, please let us know.
Thank you.
